Chirk Castle Grounds & Gardens

To make the most of our National Trust membership, we took some time off and visited Chirk Castle in Wrexham, Speke Hall in Merseyside & Rufford Old Hall in Lancashire.

Chirk Castle (Castell y Waun) is a fantastic place to visit, especially on a hot Summer’s day – lucky for us that’s exactly what we got, proper “shorts & t-shirt” weather!

The castle is an impressive building that stands on a hill overlooking it’s grounds, including the 5.5 acre garden.

Due to the omnipresent COVID19, access to the castle wasn’t on the table at this time, but that didn’t matter as there was plenty to see in the surrounding grounds/gardens. From immaculate topiary to vibrant flowers in full bloom, we had a lovely few hours exploring & taking pictures.
