A Beautiful Day At Erddig
To break up the journey home, we stopped at Erddig National Trust and toured the house and gardens.
It ended up being one of the hottest days of the holiday, which made the visit even more enjoyable as we were able to picnic outdoors and take our time walking the grounds.
During our visit, there was a national ladybird exodus and we found areas absolutely mobbed with them. We took a tour of the house where we couldn’t keep our backpacks or the baby carrier and had to, uncomfortably, carry our 10kg toddler around in our arms!
After the house tour we walked the grounds and found the remnants of an old motte & bailey castle. The bailey had a path down the centre lined with trees and the motte had a good view to the valley beyond.
The Wolf’s Den natural play area was a surprise and worth a return visit when little man is a bit bigger!
