To break up the journey home, we stopped at Erddig National Trust and toured the house and gardens.
Since it was on our doorstep, we took advantage of three more short walks in Clocaenog Forest.
Another local walk, this time along Lady Bagot’s Drive. Peaceful and scenic with just the sound of the stream for company.

Our visit to Loggerheads saw us re-tracing our steps from a previous hike with Walking Club some years ago.
Time to fit a couple of short forest walks in before a late lunch out. Clocaenog Forest was on the doorstep, let’s go!

After a delicious lunch in the restaurant, we walked around Ruthin and the castle grounds.
Exploring sunny Conwy to kick start another holiday. Although, this time, I’m not privy to the arrangements!
This red hot day in September was perfect for riding an open top steam train from Ravenglass to Dalegarth, followed by a hike & a picnic.
