A Walk & Picnic at South Cliff Gardens
For our last full day in Scarborough we explored the South Cliff Gardens and took the Cliff Lift to the shore.
The cliff paths offer views out to sea and over to Scarborough Beach and the West Pier. We visited the Rose Garden before having a picnic in the Italian Garden where we were met by some friendly squirrels. It was very peaceful & sheltered from the winds.
After lunch we took the Cliff Lift to the bottom. The tide was in and it was really windy so we grabbed a drink at the Clock Cafe – and at the same time, avoided the public toilet charge.
To end the day, we parked above the West Pier and walked down to the front to check out what was there. Mostly arcades, chip shops and tat shops – we didn’t stay long…
