Walking The Cinder Track to The Hayburn Wyke Inn for Sunday Lunch
More great weather greeted us at breakfast, after which, we set off on a local walk along The Cinder Track.
The Cinder Track is a well maintained pathway following a disused train line that used to run between Scarborough and Whitby until 1965. Very convenient that it passed behind our accommodation!
Joining the track at Cloughton, we walked North to The Hayburn Wyke Inn where we ate their Sunday carvery. T’was ok. Decent beer on tap – Theakston’s Old Peculiar a highlight.
After lunch we had a quick wander to a lookout point to see what the waterfall was all about. The lookout offers panoramic views of the pebbly coastline and if you strain your neck, the waterfall too. It looked quite small & not worth the trek down & back up, so we did a 180 back to the track and back to our accommodation for a drink in the sun on the patio.
